Dear Virginia congressional delegation,
No matter who we voted for, the fact remains: President Donald Trump and this Congress were elected by the people. We may not all like the outcome, but we expect our leaders to do their jobs. That means leading with responsibility, not catering to unelected billionaires or using power as a political game.
Americans voted for Trump, and for this Congress to take action. No one elected Elon Musk, and we certainly did not ask for whatever this unchecked chaos is. When is Congress going to take back control?
What’s happening now goes beyond presidential authority. A billionaire with no elected position and no congressional oversight is making decisions that impact national security, public discourse and even government functions. Who gave Musk the keys to the country? Because it sure as heck wasn’t the voters.

Your duty is to represent your constituents, prevent power from being concentrated in the hands of the few, and uphold the checks and balances that keep this country from becoming a global embarrassment. So, I ask, when will Congress finally step up and fulfill its intended role?
Enough excuses. It’s time to put country and party ahead of the cult of personality. Leadership isn’t about blind loyalty to one man, it’s about serving the people who elected you.
If you truly believe in American values, then act like it. Stand up for democracy, for accountability, for the integrity of our institutions and the Constitution. The voters entrusted you with power, not Musk. Stop the excuses, stop the enabling and start leading for the good of the nation.
Allowing a president to operate within constitutional limits is one thing, but Congress is meant to be a check on that power. If you refuse to fulfill that role, then perhaps it’s time for voters to finally elect leaders who will.
Charles Goin.
